Camp Sister Spirit Folk School is a project of Sister Spirit Incorporated, a nonprofit charitable organization whose mission is to eradicate division and misconceptions through building understanding, developing acceptance and teaching tolerance via social, academic and spiritual education of the individual, community fellowship and workshops with our sisters and brothers across Mississippi and beyond. Our aim is to build a self-supporting structure to identify and create opportunities for meaningful and situation-specific social justice by educating on individual levels thereby extending these practices of personal change to the community as a whole.

To that end, we offer a unique location for business conferences, business, organizational and personal meetings retreats and gathering that is nothing ordinary. The land provides relief from the distractions common to facilities in a city environment and has a peaceful atmosphere to allow the participants an opportunity to contemplate their newly acquired information. Retreat, relax and renew your spirit by surrounding yourself with the beauty and magic of nature's bounty.

We host a variety of cultural events and retreats, including the Gulf Coast Womyn's Festival and Cultural Enrichment in partnership with The Mystic Mississippi. Visitors and staff work together in a spirit of mutual respect and regard to create a new way of holistic being – living life deliberately, making conscious, informed decisions that are not fear-based, and working to obtain the tools needed for self-direction – a life that is truly free.

We need women and men (men are welcome at CSS unless a women-only event is in progress) who produce workshops, gatherings or special camping weekend with your friends, to know... this is the place. The camp has been or may be rented for Gulf Coast Womyn's Festival, SpiritFest, Women Writer's Weekend, Yoga Weekend, Drumming Circle, Plays & Concerts, Getaways, Board Retreats, Commitment Ceremonies, Hand Fastings, AA/NA retreats, Religious and Spiritual Gatherings, Birthday/Anniversary Parties, Circle Celebration, Sister Camp, and more. Please contact us for more details.

Camp Sister Spirit Folk Schools goal is to offer an environment free from discrimination. We provide a place for all people to BE as they ARE in a safe, caring, supportive and enriching environment. Your individuality is encouraged and respected here regardless of sex, marital status, race, age, sexual orientation, gender history, religious or political beliefs, different-ablity, family responsibility or family status. You are welcome and encouraged to share in the nurturing bounty of this sacred land retreat.
